Introduction
Scheduling and Reporting on Team Training Results
Team leaders and team administrators can run reports to see the learning activities that people in their teams have been doing. In this topic we introduce you to the reporting features and demonstrate how to run, schedule and then delete a scheduled report.
We estimate that this will take 3 minutes to complete.
Tracking
NAVBLUE Academy tracks the activities of learners whilst they are logged in. This information is stored in a database which can then be interrogated by the reporting features. As a Team Leader/Administrator, you are restricted to seeing only the activities from people within your team.
The information that is stored in the database will differ from course to course, depending on the way the course has been designed, but commonly will show the course modules that have been completed and time taken.
Detailed Explanation
Running Reports
We are currently viewing the N-Flight Planning team.
Notice how there is no activity from this team.
Click the Team combo box.
Let's switch teams. Ensuring that you have the correct team selected when you have access to more than one team is very important, as this restricts the information you can report on.
Click the Customers : NAVBLUE Air : NAVBLUE Air Flysmart+ Users list item.
You can see now that we have switched teams that team member Fred Bloggs has gained a new achievement.
Achievments are course completions and will normally allow the user to download a course completion certificate from the learner, achievements screen. Remember, for you to see this, you need to toggle into the learner view from the profile dropdown button. Once you are in this mode, you will be able to only see your own, personal achievements - not those of the entire team.
Let's take a look in some more detail to see what Fred Bloggs has been doing. We could do this from the reports tab, but a useful button on the team leader / team administrator dashboard gives us direct access.
Let's click the User Activity button.
Click the User Activity button.
You can see at the bottom of the screen now a report in a list view, showing the number of courses assigned to each team member and how far through them they are.
HINT
Fred Bloggs has three courses assigned to him and he has completed 33% (one third) of them, so he has actually completed one course.
Let's switch into a more graphical representation of these training results.
Click the Chart View tab.
A bar chart is shown which summarizes the same information, i.e. courses completed against those assigned to the learner.
We could go back using the breadcrumb trail, but instead let's just go to the reporting tab.
Click the Reports tab.
Summary information for the team about the last 30 days is shown at the top of the screen in an infographic style of presentation.
There are different types of quick reports that we can run located on the right side.
Let's run a quick report on the courses.
Click the Courses hyperlink.
The list view now shows the courses that are assigned to the team, how many people have been assigned each course and how many people have completed them. These are arranged in columns, but these columns are actually the default views. You can decide which columns and which information to show if you choose to.
Click the image.
Let's add some additional columns of information.
Click the COMPLETED % check box.
Click the CREATED DATE check box.
Click the UPDATED DATE check box.
Click the Run Report button.
Those additional columns have now been added to the list view.
The Flysmart+ General Presentation for iOS course has been completed by one person. Let's look into it.
Click the Flysmart+ General Presentation - iOS hyperlink.
You can now see that it was Fred Bloggs who completed the course.
The columns of information being displayed can be changed in the same manner as before if needed.
Let's now run another quick report. This time on modules.
Click the Modules hyperlink.
Courses are comprised of modules. This list shows all the course modules within the courses that you have access to.
Let's look into the Flysmart+ Introduction V2.0 module.
Click the Flysmart+ Introduction V2.0 hyperlink.
You can now see that Fred Bloggs had 1 attempt at this course module, spent 2 minutes 52 seconds in the module and successfully completed it. Once again, if different columns of information are needed these can be added or taken away in the same manner as previously shown.
Let's now run another quick report, this time on people.
Click the People hyperlink.
And let's drill down into Fred Bloggs again.
Click the Fred Bloggs hyperlink.
Click the Page Down vertical scroll bar.
You can now see which course modules Fred Bloggs has completed and when he completed them.
Report Scheduling
Once you are displaying the columns you want and the right information for you, you can download the report instantly or schedule it to run on a regular basis. For the purposes of this demonstration, we will schedule it to run once a month and for it to be emailed to you.

Click the Title input field.
Press the key.
For this training example we have filled in the title automatically for you.
Click the Options combo box.
Click the Schedule list item.
By default, the email address associated with your NAVBLUE Academy profile will be automatically filled in.
Click the Frequency combo box.
Click the 1st of every month list item.
Click the Format combo box.
HINT
Adobe Acrobat PDF format or Comma Separated Values (CSV) files are available. If you want to see the raw data in Excel, then use the CSV file format.
Click the CSV list item.
Click the Run button.
The report has now been scheduled.
HINT
One of the drawbacks of scheduling reports that are created on a regular basis and emailed to you is "What happens when you no longer want the report?".
This scenario results in unwanted emails and some frustration from team leaders / administrators, so we will now show you how to remove a report that you have scheduled.
We have returned to the dashboard view.
Click the Reports tab.
Click the Page Down vertical scroll bar.
Here is the scheduled report and we can now delete it.
Click the Delete Fred Bloggs Training Report Report image.
Click the OK button.
SUCCESS
Congratulations! You have successfully created a report, scheduled it, and deleted
