Deactivating and reactivating a user 

You will learn how to deactivate and reactivate a user in NAVBLUE Academy. 

We estimate that this will take 3 minutes to complete.


Detailed Explanation

In some cases, users may need to have their account access revoked in NAVBLUE Academy. This could be for a variety of reasons, such as switching departments in your organization, leaving your company, etc.

 

As a Team Admin/Leader, you are able to deactivate a user in NAVBLUE Academy. It is your responsibility to ensure that only authorized people have access to NAVBLUE Academy.

 

Deactivating users allows you to revoke their access and retain their training records for six years. You should never delete a user as their training records will be deleted and cannot be recovered. 


Deactivating a user

Interaction 1 Click the Teams tab.

You can see which teams you are assigned to as a Team Admin/Leader by clicking the Teams tab. 

Interaction 1 Click the NAVBLUE Academy - TESTING TEAM hyperlink.

Here will list any teams you have Team Admin/Leader privilege for. 

Interaction 1 Click the vertical scroll bar.

All active users within the team displays here. You can enter in each user's profile and/or deactivate as needed.

The Show Inactive button is disabled and cannot be used by a Team Admin/Leader.

Interaction 2 Click the NAVBLUE Academy hyperlink.

Interaction 1 Click the Deactivate User button.

REMINDER 

When you deactivate a user, their user record is retained for six years. Afterwards, their account will be deleted from NAVBLUE Academy and you will be unable to restore it.


Reactivating a user

Interaction 1 Click the People tab.

You can reactivate a user's account that has been previously deactivated. You will only be able to reinstate accounts from users that were previously a part of your team. To see a list of users available to you to reactivate, click the People tab.

Interaction 1 Click the vertical scroll bar.

All users, active or inactive, will show up here. In the Status column, you will see the status of the users' account. If you do not see a user on this list, submit a ticket in the NAVBLUE Academy support portal.

Interaction 2 Click the NAVBLUE Academy hyperlink.

Let's reactivate the user's profile that we just deactivated. 

Interaction 1 Click the Activate User button.

SUCCESS 

Congratulations! You have successfully deactivated and reactivated a user! The user can now login at the NAVBLUE Academy homepage. If they are unsure of their password, they can use the Forgotten password function to reset it.
